Bangladesh protested the assault of its national as shown in a video allegedly by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in West Bengal's Murshidabad district along the Indo-Bangla border and demanded a thorough inquiry into the incident. Protesting against the 'abusive and violent' action by BSF personnel, Bangladesh's Foreign Ministry requested the Indian authorities to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident and take appropriate action against the concerned BSF personnel, PTI news agency quoted a spokesperson as saying. The ministry has also requested immediate action to prevent recurrence of such incidents in the future. A nearly 5-minute video, showing a man being stripped, kicked and beaten by men donning BSF-style dark green fatigues in West Bengal's Murshidabad district along the Indo-Bangla border, was aired Wednesday on some television channels. Meanwhile, the BSF has ordered a full court inquiry and will record the statement of the Bangladeshi national who was shown in a video being stripped, kicked and beaten in West Bengal's Murshidabad district along the Indo-Bangla border. Earlier on Thursday, the Indian government ordered a full investigation into the matter. The Force, which suspended eight of its personnel yesterday after they were 'prima facie' found involved in the incident, has identified the 32-year old Bangladeshi who had crossed the border allegedly for cow smuggling. BSF sources said the Bangladeshi, identified as Abdul Sheikh, a resident of Abasia in Chapainawabganj, will be asked to record the statement with the BSF officials. The BSF had said 'strict disciplinary action' will be taken against the eight jawans based on the findings of the inquiry. The suspended personnel belong to the 105th battalion of BSF who were identified.
