
The Services Committee at the Shura Council convened here today under the chairmanship of Abdulrahman Abdulsalam. The panel discussed proposed amendments to some provisions of Law of Organising the Retirement Pensions and Benefits for the Officers and Servicemen of Bahrain Defence Force and Public Security promulgated by Legislative Decree No. 11 of 1976. The committee discussed the proposed amendments, submitted by Shura member Dr. Jehad Abdulla AL Fadhel, in the presence of representatives of the Interior Ministry, the Ministry of State for Defence Affairs and the Military Pension Fund, and decided to continue examining the views of the relevant sides. The panel also reviewed its draft report on a bill to amend article 7 of Law No. 74 of 2006 with respect to Care, Rehabilitation and Employment of Disabled Persons, and decided to submit its final report to the Shura Council's Bureau. Under the bill, disabled persons will receive a monthly "disability" allowance of BD150, in addition to the existing benefits which will remain unchanged. The committee also discussed its draft report on a another bill amending article 5 of the same law on granting women who give birth to a disabled children pause hours.
