
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, today at Al-Sahkir Palace, received Parliament Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Jamil Chi-chak and the accompanying delegation, on the occasion of visiting the country as part of its tour in a number of the region countries.HM the King praised the close Bahraini-Turkish relations that based on bilateral cooperation and mutual respect.Turkish Parliament Speaker conveyed the greetings of President Abdullah Gul and wishes of progress and prosperity to the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people.HM the King stressed the role of parliamentary councils in strengthening cooperation at the official and popular levels to achieve common interests of the two countries and their peoples, noting the importance of exchanging visits to activate joint action on political development and exchanging expertise in parliamentary, democratic and development fields, in addition to establishing joint coordination on Arab, Islamic and international stances in parliamentary forums.He hailed the Turkish President's efforts in promoting international peace, security and stability, as well as Islamic just causes.He wished the Turkish delegation success in meeting Bahraini counterpart to develop the principles of activating bilateral parliamentary cooperation in the interest of Bahraini-Turkish relations and to bolster the democratic process in both countries.HM the King commended the efforts of Chairman of the Bahraini-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Group and Deputy of Mardin Province, Gonul Bekin Sahkulubey, in strengthening bilateral relations in all fields. HM the King asked the Turkish delegation to convey his greetings to President Abdulla Gul and whish the Turkish people further progress and prosperity.
