
The Minister of Finance, H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, held talks today with the Indian Minister of State for External Affairs, H.E. E. Ahmed, who is currently visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain on the occasion of the Bahrain – India Trade Conference and Exhibition. The close and deep-rooted relations between the two countries, particularly in financial and economic sectors, were hailed during the meeting, as well as the essential role of the Indian community in supporting the development process in the Kingdom. Areas with potential for further co-operation include public finance, tourism, energy, and information and communications technology were explored. Both sides agreed to identify a set of projects that could represent ideal vehicles for joint investment in the near future. The meeting was attended by H.E. Aref S. Khamis, Undersecretary, Ministry of Finance and a number of MoFA officials. Also, H.E. Dr. Mohan Kumar, the Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, attended the meeting.
