Manama - BNA

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received today the United Kingdom’s Defence Senior Advisor on the Middle East Lieutenant General Sir John Lorimer and his accompanying delegation. He stressed the strategic importance of the Middle East, adding that security and stability in it are vital not only for the countries in the region but the whole world. He pointed out the efforts made to boost regional security, affirming that interference in the countries' internal affairs is rejected for it foments tensions and conflicts. He underlined the importance of meetings between officials to bolster common understanding of many issues and optimise security. "We look forward to more support from friends and allies to foster stability and security in this part of the world," he said.

HRH the Premier reviewed with the British official sound relations between Bahrain and Britain, praising growing bilateral relations in the defence and military fields. They also reviewed the overall regional and international developments and issues of common interest.
