Manama - BNA

A prayer for peace in all languages of the world has today been held at the National Anglican Church in Manama. The Bahrain Society for Tolerance and Religious Coexistence organized the peace-loving event under the patronage of Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa. He stressed the importance of the initiative as a multilingual message to the world and a model projecting Bahrain’s civilized image and deeply-ingrained heritage of co-existence, peace-loving mindset and inter- religious harmony. He congratulated Christians in Bahrain on the advent of Christmas and the New, expressing the hope that peace and security would prevail all amid mounting challenges and difficulties confronting the Arab region and the world in general. He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for incessantly advocating in his keynote speeches tolerance and unity. He stressed HM the King’s keenness on promoting Bahrain’s regional and international status as a country firmly committed to the principles of justice and equality. He cited the royal call to hold an international conference on dialogue between civilizations in Bahrain this year. He said that the constitution of Bahrain stipulates the importance of peaceful co-existence and respect for religious liberties without any exclusion or ostracisation. The Bahrain Society for Tolerance and Religious Coexistence Chairman Yusuf Bouzabun said that 23 countries are participating in the Prayer for Peace in Bahrain. “Bahrain has always set the model for tolerance and peaceful coexistence”, he said. National Anglican Church Priest and Bahrain Society for Tolerance and Religious Coexistence Vice Chairman Hani Aziz reiterated the allegiance of all expatriate communities and sects to the people of Bahrain and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. He said that 26 personalities representing all religious and sects rallied to take part in the Prayer for Peace in 16 different languages.
