
Prince Khalifa was received at Kuwait International Airport by HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Ahmad Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Amiri Diwan Affairs Minister Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah, sheikhs, ministers, governors, senior officials of HH the Prime Minister Diwan and ambassadors of the two countries. The Bahraini premier said in an arrival statement he was pleased to be in Kuwait, "our second country on a brotherly visit during which we will extend congratulations on this holy month to our dear brother, His Highness (the Amir) Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to whom we carry greetings of the Kingdom of Bahrain; the King, the government, the people, as well as to the leadership of the State of Kuwait and its dear people." This visit, he added, falls within framework of bolstering the deep-rooted Kuwaiti-Bahrain ties that bound the two countries and the two brotherly people whose close relationship is an example for cooperation and brotherhood. It is also part continuing consultations and coordination between the leaderships and governments of the two countries "for sake of serving interests of the peoples of the two countries, Gulf Cooperation states and for sake of bolstering the coordination and consultations toward diverse issues that concern the two brotherly countries." Such a visit is an opportunity with which "we affirm the solid bilateral ties and discuss rapid developments happening in the region," Prince Khalifa said. Elaborating, he indicated that his mission serves mutual cooperation and coordination "particularly considering the fact that we are living today amid security, political and economic challenges at the regional and international levels that warrant deeper integration at the pan-Gulf level."
