New York - BNA

Foreign Minister, Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs Elizabeth Jones, at the Permanent headquarters of Kingdom of Bahrain’s Mission to United Nations in New York. Foreign Minister stressed that Bahrain has adopted the approach of tolerance, and community moderation, which led to the creation of a society that believes in modernization, respect of the other, and coexistence between all the components in the light of the rule of law and the just independent judiciary. Shaikh Khalid highlighted that what is happening in Bahrain today is violence, terrorism, and fanaticism from terrorist groups which have special agenda targeting security men, terrifying secure people, spreading chaos, sowing sedition and discord and destroying the national economy and development. He said that they are all addressed with law and just judiciary. Elizabeth Jones valued the historical relations bonding Kingdom of Bahrain with U.S., lauding the true desire of His Majesty the King, and the Bahraini leadership to proceed with the reform wheel ahead through the national dialogue, aspiring that all parts reach a consensus that contributes in the progress of Kingdom of Bahrain and the prosperity of its people. Shaikh Khalid also discussed with Elizabeth Jones the bilateral relations and the results of the meeting of GCC Foreign Ministers with U.S. Secretary of State, as well as the Syrian file and the most important developments in the Middle East.
