Minister of Religious Endowments (Awqaf), Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed, affirmed the need to combat Takfiri extremism in order to eradicate terrorism.
During meeting with the academic staff of Petersburg State University, al-Sayyed reviewed the Syrian experience in combating terrorism, extremism and the stages of historical development of radical movements and the main factors that led to the emergence of this thought.
The Minister stressed the great status of the city of Jerusalem to Muslims and Christians alike and affirmed that any decision issued by the United States and others can not erase the history of the city and its great heritage
