
The commander of US Central Command on Saturday confirmed that the Yemeni-American partnership to fight against terrorism has achieved great successes. During his meeting with President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, Lloyd Austin said that all the successes made under the Yemeni-American anti-terrorism partnership are in favor of Yemen and its security and stability. We are working in order to preclude terrorism from accomplishing its malicious objectives, he said. "We, in partnership with the international community, support Yemen in these exceptional circumstances, and we will work together to stand by Yemen to succeed the transitional stage and be steered towards prospects for peace, prosperity and development," Austin said. He praised the achievements made so far in Yemen, saying that the successes of the national dialogue are safety valve for the entire region and not only for Yemen. The President apprised the US military official of the nature of the situation in Yemen in security, political and economic areas and the serious repercussions generated by the crisis erupted in early 2011 at various levels. He also indicated to the problems Yemen has suffered, and still does, from terrorism led by al-Qaeda or the so-called "Ansar al Sharia" and the damages caused to the country's economy, topped by investment, tourism business. Hadi said that all Yemenis are gratitude to the assistance of the US alongside the Gulf initiative ten sponsoring countries to Yemen to end the 2011 crisis, saying "all of these positions will remain in the Yemenis' minds over the new history of Yemen."
