Army Chief meets US Central Command Commander in Washington

Lebanese Army Chief, General Joseph Aoun, met, within the frame of his visit to Washington, with United States Central Command Commander, General Joseph Votel, in presence of a panel of military and civil officials.
During the meeting, General Votel congratulated General Aoun on the huge victory scored by the Lebanese army during the "Dawn of the Outskirts" offensive.
Moreover, both sides discussed the bilateral ties and the means to bolster cooperation to support the Lebanese army in its national task.
Conferees also dwelt on the US military aid program for Lebanon, whereby General Votel confirmed that more assistance would be provided in the upcoming stage.
Furthermore, Votel extolled the decision taken by the Lebanese army command to enhance the deployment of the military in the south Litani sector
