Army: 1 killed, 3 injured in north Beqaa ambush, 2 Syrians kidnapped

A convoy of Ersal families along the Baalbek-Hermel Highway was subjected to open fire by a group of of armed men around 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, a Lebanese Army communiqué indicated. The attack resulted in the injury of four civilians, one of whom later passed away. The armed group also kidnapped two Syrians who were riding along with said convoy, the communiqué addedAs a result, Lebanese Army units deployed in the Beqaa region adopted extraordinary security measures for containing the situation, while initiating immediate investigations in search of the perpetrators, the communiqué indicated.
