Arab League Secretary-General Nabil al-Arabi has strongly condemned twin bombings that struck two mosques in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli. In a Friday statement, al-Arabi called on the Lebanese to "use reason to foil plots aimed at sowing strife and division" in the country. The Arab League chief also offered his condolences to the families of those killed in the blasts. Two powerful explosions rocked two mosques in Tripoli yesterday as worshippers finished performing Friday prayers. At least 50 people were killed and more than 350 injured in the two blasts, according to Tripoli municipal head Nader Ghazal.
