Arab League Secretary General meets FAO director general

Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Arab met here today with FAO Director-General Jose Graziano da Silva who is now visiting Cairo. An Arab League press release said the meeting dealt with the dimensions of the global food crisis, adding that Al-Arab stressed the need to find quick solutions to the crisis. The two sides underlined the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Arab League and FAO and also discussed how to coordinate efforts to bring sustainable development and eliminate the problems of hunger and poverty in the region.
