Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States has stressed that awareness of GCC societies would stave off calls for inciting and sectarian strife. He said: "People of the GCC countries, with all their social strata and components, coexisted for decades in perfect harmony, and managed, thanks to God Almighty, and to their awareness, wisdom and Arab authentic values to maintain their social fabric, national unity and religious principles which all call for intimacy, convergence and cohesion among nations and peoples." Dr. Al-Zayani confirmed his great confidence that attempts to sow sectarian strife and ignite its fuse in the GCC countries will not succeed, God willing, and will receive miserably failure because of the coherent national front of GCC countries. He also made clear that advocates of sedition, extremism and fanaticism won't be accepted in the GCC countries whose their people are known throughout their history of moderation and tolerance, urging them to be vigilant of risks of the hateful sectarian calls, aiming at division, fragmentation and weakening of GCC societies.
