AIPU calls for ending Israeli occupation, establishing Palestinian state

The Arab Inter-parliamentary Union (AIPU) has called for ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

AIPU, in a statement released Monday by media office of Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of Naqba Day, said Arab parliamentarians asserted that Palestinian people are ready to offer all sacrifices to restore their usurped rights and there are not any bargaining on such rights.

AIPU asserted that all crimes committed by the Israeli occupation backed by major powers would not hinder the struggle of the Palestinian people and their efforts to restore their lands seized by the occupation forces.

Since its foundation in 1974, AIPU backed the Palestinian people in their struggle at home and in diaspora. It also renewed its affirmation that stability in the Middle East region is bound by achieving the aspirations of the Palestinian people to set up their independent state. 

AIPU also urged all Arab and world parliaments to support the Palestinian people and pressure Israel to apply the international legtimacy resolutions relevant to the Palestinian issue.
