Ninety people have been arrested at violent protests against President Donald Trump on the day of his inauguration as the 45th US president.
Riot police lined streets in downtown Washington preventing protestors from getting near Pennsylvania Avenue, where Trump will take part in a parade from the US Capitol to the White House later on Friday. Police used stun grenades to drive the protestors back.
A planned million women march for Saturday is expected to bring hundreds of thousands of demonstrators into Washington from around the country.
The protestors are opposed to Trump's election and have voiced concerns about his statements on immigration, climate change and his desire to keep Muslims from entering the United States.
