Several blasts rocked a propane gas plant in the eastern U.S. state of Florida late Monday, injuring seven workers on site and triggering huge fire, police said early Tuesday. Police officer John Herrell said 24 people were working at the Blue Rhino gas plant when explosions were reported at about 11 p.m. on Monday (0300 GMT Tuesday). Seven workers were wounded and the others either escaped or were later found safe. Herrell said all workers at the plant have been accounted for with no fatalities. Earlier reports said 15 workers were missing in the incident. Police said about 470,000 kg of propane were stocked at the plant when fire broke out after the blasts. A 1.6-km evacuation zone was initially announced, but it was later reduced to an 800-meter radius. Firefighters struggled until early Tuesday to contain the flames and stop it from spreading to other parts of the plant. No injures have been reported in the neighborhood near the gas plant.
