Turkey forces have arrested 64 illegal immigrants while attempting to cross to neighboring Greece by sea, sources at the Coast Guard said Sunday.
The coast guards arrested the illegal immigrants, who included 27 children and 17 women, as they were trying to head to the Greek island of Midilli on a dinghy off Canakkale city in the Aegean Sea, the sources were quoted by Anadolu Agency as saying.
They said the arrestees were taken to a repatriation center in Canakkale.
