6 killed in north Philippine massacre

Philippine authorities have launched a manhunt to the suspects who massacred six people in a resthouse in the northern province of Pampanga Friday night, local police said Saturday. Police Senior Superintendent Oscar Albayalde said that a Special Investigation Task Group "Edejer" was formed to resolve the robbery with multiple homicide and car-napping incident that transpired in Telabastagan Village in San Fernando City. The owner of the house, identified as Nicolas Edejer, was wounded in the incident and was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment. Two family members of the Edejer family and their four helpers were shot to death by still unidentified suspects, he said. The suspects used the Edejer's vehicle to escape. Albayalde said that investigation was still ongoing to determine the real motive of the shooting.
