Five soldiers of the Turkish security forces were wounded Friday by gunfire from the Syrian side, the Turkish military said in a statement on Saturday. An unknown number of people were also killed or wounded in Syria after Turkish troops fired back, said the statement issued by the general staff of the Turkish armed forces. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said later Friday that his country will respond immediately to any threat from the Syrian side just as the military did in recent months. "From now on, we will make necessary response to any threat, regardless of whatever group it comes from," Davutoglu said. On Wednesday, Turkey returned fire into the Syrian territory after shots from the Syrian side killed one Turkish citizen and seriously wounded two others.
