
At least five people, including one policeman and a woman, were killed in separate violent incidents that took place in southern Pakistani city of Karachi during the past 24 hours, Pakistani police stated on Sunday. According to police officials, unknown gunmen shot down a policeman near Chawla Market in Nazimabad area of Karachi, adding that separate incidents of violence killed four other people in the metropolitan's Baldia Town areas of Garden and Orangi, where a woman was attacked on a traffic signal as she was on her way home. Following the violent incidents, the police launched investigations in Musharraf Colony, arresting five individuals involved in criminal activities, police officials indicated, adding that the arrested were also wanted for extortion and other crimes. Police also claimed to recover weapons from the suspects during the search operation.
