27 African countries to suffer water poverty by 2020
UN health agency unveils sanitation and hygiene plan towards eradicating tropical diseases by 2020

Ugandan State Minister for the Environment Mary Goretti Kitutu warned that 27 African countries will suffer from water poverty in the years from 2020 to 2025, mostly in North Africa and Sahel and Sahara regions.
Speaking to MENA correspondent here, Kitutu warned against the dangers of not preserving the ecological system in African countries.
She said government spending has to be doubled to protect the environment and improve the efficiency of water resources.
The Ugandan minister said she will visit Egypt on December 4 to forge agreements to improve weather forecast in Uganda. Source: MENA
