Islamabad - QNA

Two Pakistani opposition parties on Friday said they would boycott the presidential election due next week. The Pakistan People’s Party of incumbent President Asif Ali Zardari said the decision to withdraw its candidate was to protest a Supreme Court ruling to bring forward the voting day by a week. "We don't have enough time for electioneering," said Senator Raza Rabbani, the party's presidential candidate. "We are boycotting the election."    The Awami National Party, based in the north-western province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said it would also join the boycott. But the party of former cricketing star Imran Khan, the third-largest group in the national parliament, has decided to contest the election, its candidate said
