
Twelve Iraqis were killed and 63 others injured in a new wave of car-bomb explosions that rocked the Iraqi capital as violence continues to escalate, a security source stated on Tuesday. Two car-bombs went off sequentially in Al-Aamel district, southern Baghdad, killing two individuals and injuring 18 civilians, the source from Baghdad Operational Command told KUNA. Another car-bomb explosion, targeting Al-Mahdi house of mourning, took place in Al-Zaafaraniya district, southern Baghdad, killing three civilians and injuring 11 others, added the source. Also, two other car-bombs exploded in Al-Sadr district, eastern the capital, killing six Iraqis, including two women, and injuring 15 others, the source said. In addition, a car-bomb went off in Al-Jawadain district at Al-Shoala area, northwestern Baghdad, killing one civilian and injuring six others with multiple wounds, noted the source, adding that another car-bomb exploded in Al-Ghadeer district, southeastern the capital, injuring seven people.
