Eleven people have been arrested for their role in a landslide which left 12 people dead and 62 others missing in south China's Guangdong Province over a week ago.
The procuratorate of Bao'an district, Shenzhen, announced the arrests on Thursday, three days after the police took "coercive measures" against 12 people.
The 11 people include a legal representative and a deputy general manager of a company that was in charge of the landfill, where a mountain of construction waste collapsed on Dec. 20, destroying 33 buildings in the Hengtaiyu industrial zone of Shenzhen city.
They were charged with the crime of negligently causing a serious accident, the procuratorate said, adding it has urged the police to track down other suspects on the run as soon as possible.
The search for the missing is still ongoing.
