Tunisian President receives ISESCO Director-General

The President of the Republic of Tunisia, Beji Caid Essebsi, has received Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director-General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, ISESCO.

During the meeting, Dr Altwaijri expressed his thanks and gratitude to President Essebsi for the sustained support of the Republic of Tunisia to ISESCO, and briefed him on the arrangements being made for the convening of ISESCO’s first Conference of Education Ministers in October, and the International Conference on Combating Extremism and Terrorism for Peace, being held in December in Tunis.

He also briefed him on the sessions of the International Symposium on Promoting Values of Peace and Dialogue which is being held by ISESCO and the Tunisian Ministry of Education and ALECSO, in Sousse, from 18th - 20th April, with the participation of Mrs. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, President of the Republic of Malta, as guest of honour.

President Essebsi pledged the continued support of the Republic of Tunisia to ISESCO and its Director-General, and expressed his appreciation of the organisation’s outstanding efforts to enhance joint Islamic action. The meeting was attended by Dr. Neji Jalloul, the Tunisian Minister of Education.
