Iraqi Joint forces foil “Daesh” attacks in Amerli and Kairouan

Popular Gathering media office said that, the 52nd Brigade, Iraqi Army, Amerli Police and all resistance factions foiled a violent attack conducted by “Daesh”, killed 7 of their elements and destroyed a car bomb belonged to them.
The media office said in another statement that, troops of the 10th Brigade with the support of the Third Brigade managed to stop an attack targeting “Ain Fathy” village, south of Kairouan, and killed all of the attacking unit elements.
Popular Gathering troops launched in May 12, 2017 the second operation of “Prophet Mohammed” to liberate Kairouan city and the neighboring villages west of Tal Afar from “Daesh” control.
