Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, has received Miles Armitage, Australian Ambassador for Counter-Terrorism.

The meeting in Riyadh touched on efforts being exerted by the international community to fight terrorism and means of boosting cooperation in the field of promoting regional security development.

Dr. Al-Zayani confirmed the keenness and determination of the GCC member states to continue their political, diplomatic and security efforts to combat terrorist organisations and dry-up their sources of finance and confront their extremist thoughts which is distant from true Islam and its principles and values which call for moderation and tolerance.
