The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain has said it respects the United Kingdom’s decision to leave the European Union, expressing its trust in the United Kingdom's ability to play its current active role on both regional and international arenas.

In a statement issued today, the Ministry wished the UK and its people further progress and prosperity, according to Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to further bolstering the outstanding relations between the two sides that go back to more than two hundred years in order to strengthen the shared interest of both countries in all areas for the benefit of their peoples, as well as affirming the resolve of the Kingdom of Bahrain to promote cooperation with the European Union in all fields in a manner that contributes to the consolidation of peace and security in the region," the statement also said.
