
The big-screen adaptation of E.L. James' erotic best-seller Fifty Shades of Grey was No. 1 at the North American box office for Valentine's weekend, Rentrak announced Sunday.
Starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, the movie raked in $81.7 million in the United States and Canada Feb. 13-15.
Coming in at No. 2 is Kingsman: The Secret Service with $35.6 million, followed by The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water at No. 3 with $30.5 million, American Sniper at No. 4 with $16.4 million and Jupiter Ascending at No. 5 with $9.4 million.
Rounding out the top tier are Seventh Son at No. 6 with $4.2 million, Paddington at No. 7 with $4.1 million, The Imitation Game at No. 8 with $3.5 million, The Wedding Ringer at No. 9 with $3.4 million and Project Almanac at No. 10 with $2.7 million.
