Health Minister Nizar Yazigi discussed with a delegation of the Joint Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce the possibilities of enhancing cooperation in providing special kinds of medicines such as medicines for chronic diseases, cancer and fields of training medical and technical cadres.

During the meeting, Minister Yazigi expressed readiness to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Brazilian Ministry of Health in the fields of medical exchange and activate the memorandum signed with the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital in Sao Paulo to train medical staff in liver transplantation and treatment of cancerous diseases.

He hoped that the upcoming cooperation between Syria and Brazil will cover health, trade and industry sectors.

For his part, President of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Rubens Hanoun, pointed out that the visit of the delegation aims at expanding relations between the two countries.

He affirmed that Brazil will be a partner in the stage of Syria’s prosperity and the growth of its economy.

He expressed his admiration for what he saw in the Damascus International Fair of the large presence of international and Arab companies and businessmen in addition to the popular turnout.
