Kuwait Red Crescent Society launches donation campaign for humanitarian aid
Tripoli, Lebanon - KUNA

The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) launched on Wednesday its third initiative for supporting Syrian refugees who have been suffering from kidney diseases in Lebanon.
In a statement to KUNA, KRCS's head of the volunteer's team in Lebanon Musaed Al-Enezi said that required medical equipment and medications were delivered to Orange-Nassau Governmental Hospital in the city to serve those patients.
He added that humanitarian assistances provided to Syrian patients aim at contributing to treating them for six months, especially those who have chronic kidney diseases in coordination with Lebanese officials.
He pointed out that the KRCS started the project of distributing bread to 4,000 families of Syrian refugees in north and south of Lebanon for three months.
Al-Enezi said the KRCS had earlier distributed more than 20 million bread loaves to Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
He stressed that humanitarian aid comes in the framework of the KRCS's commitment to supporting Syrians, hoping that such aid could alleviate the sufferings of Syrian refugees.
For his part, head of the north region of the Lebanese Red Cross Youssef Boutros hailed the humanitarian efforts provided by Kuwait to support the displaced Syrians, stressing this action contributed significantly to alleviating their plight.
Boutros added that this is not the first initiative undertaken by the KRCS as it has always been active in helping the afflicted and needy in all parts of the world.
He noted that thousands of displaced Syrians in Lebanon have benefited from the KRCS's humanitarian projects.
According to the latest statistics, Syrian refugees in Lebanon exceeded more than one billion mostly in areas of Tripoli, Akkar, Sidon and Bekaa.
