The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) health ministers today convened for their 78th meeting in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani attended the opening session, along health ministers representing member states and Yemen.
Addressing the event, he extended sincere condolences to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Deputy Crown Prince, the Royal Family and the Saudi people on the sad demise of King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
He paid tribute to the late monarch, hailing his lifetime legacy as a charismatic leader which dedicated his efforts to serve the Arab and Islamic nations and advocate human causes. He extended deep thanks and appreciation to The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and his Government for hosting the conference, hailing their dedicated efforts to bolster the march of the GCC.
Dr. Al-Zayani stressed the importance for the State of Yemen to restore peace security and stability, in the aftermath of the state of mayhem which was caused by those who sparked chaos, violence and terrorism and derailed the peaceful political process which started in 2011 on the basis of the GCC Peace Initiative.
He stressed the importance of the conference, being held under the theme "Health Performance Indicators, Road to Excellence", saying that the slogan reflects the keenness of the health ministries of the GCC and Yemen to upgrade services.
