Voters in Bulgaria began Sunday to cast their ballots in the presidential election
Sofia - Arab Today

Voters in Bulgaria began Sunday to cast their ballots in the presidential election to choose a new president.
Among 21 presidential candidates a tight race is expected between the two frontrunners, Parliament Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva (58 years), nominated by main ruling party GERB, and former Air Force Commander Maj Gen Rumen Radev (53 years), endorsed by the main opposition force, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP).
The Bulgarian President Rosen Blevenelev had earlier announced he would not seek to run for a new mandate of five years.
Bulgarians are also due to cast their ballots on proposed changes in the conduct of the parliamentary elections, including the application of compulsory voting system and the allocation of the political party system.
