Riyadh - Arab Today

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and his entourage on Sunday visited the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) in Riyadh, and met with the adviser to the Royal Court and general supervisor of the center, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah.
Guterres was briefed on the executive programs that KSRelief provides for those in need worldwide.
There are 181 projects in this regard, worth over $691 million, plus programs currently being implemented in countries on four continents.
The number of partners in the programs offered stands at 100.
Guterres expressed his pleasure at visiting the center, and praised KSRelief for serving humanity, not only in Yemen and Syria but worldwide.
He said the UN cannot work alone, but with the collaboration and cooperation of all parties, much can be offered to people in need.
He added that KSRelief is playing a key role in the region and the world. He extended his thanks and best wishes for success to all those working at the center.
Guterres and his entourage toured the different departments of the center, in addition to the headquarters of UN organizations and the assistance coordination office of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
At the end of the visit, the general supervisor of KSRelief presented a memento to Guterres on the occasion of this visit.
