UAQ Ruler pays tribute to martyrs, inaugurates martyrs’ memorial monument
Umm al-Qaiwain - Arab Today

The sacrifices of the martyrs of the UAE Armed Forces embody loyalty and allegiance to the leadership and the nation founded by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, said H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm al-Qaiwain, at the inauguration of the martyrs’ memorial monument at Square Martyrs in Umm al-Qaiwain.

The martyrs are symbols of sacrifice, true reflection of the nation’s unity and cohesion in the face of greed that targets the homeland, he added.

Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm al-Qaiwain, was also present at the ceremony.

The ceremony started by observing a minute’s silence in honour of the martyrs. The UAQ Ruler then hoisted the flag while the national anthem was being played.

Ali Jassim Ahmed, Member of the Federal National Council, welcomed the UAQ Ruler, the Crown Prince of Umm al-Qaiwain and the audience. He hailed the martyrs for their valuable sacrifices on the occasion of the Commemoration Day.

The UAQ Ruler presented a martyr shield to the families of the martyrs, praying to the Almighty Allah to rest them in peace and bestow patience and solace on their families.

Among others present were Sheikh Humaid bin Ahmed Al Mualla; Sheikh Saif bin Rashid Al Mualla, Head of the Department of Economic Development; Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Umm al-Qaiwain; Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla; Sheikh Saqr bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla; Eng. Sheikh Ahmed bin Khalid Al Mualla, Head of the Department of Planning and Survey; Nasser Saeed Al Talai, Director of the Emiri Court; Rashid Mohamed Ahmed, Director of Protocol; directors of local and federal departments and a group of citizens and residents.
