Beirut - Arab Today

State Minister for Anti-Corruption Affairs, Nicolas Tueni, on Wednesday reassured that home stability was not at stake, stressing that the current crisis will pass.

Tueni has visited Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdullatif Darian at Dar-al-Fatwa today, with who he tackled the current situation following the sudden resignation of Prime Minister Saad Hariri.

"We are holding onto national stability, and the Mufti is following up on the developments with a national spirit away from sectarianism," Tueni told reporters following the meeting.

"There is no threat to stability and the crisis will pass," he underlined.

"The formation of a new government depends on the return of Prime Minister Saad Hariri from Saudi Arabia," he stressed.

Earlier today, the Mufti received former ministers Abdul Rahim Mrad and Wiam Wahhab, with whom he held separate talks.

"Everybody is cleaving to the unity of position in order to address what is happening," Mrad said.

Fir his part, Wahhab called for a dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

"We hold onto Hariri to lead the government and we are waiting for him to know what happened," he said
