HE Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani on Thursday visited the Kahramaa Awareness Park, part of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) in Al Hilal.
During the visit, HE the Prime Minister was briefed on the most important facilities in the park and the programs and services offered to the visitors as a center for science, knowledge, plans and future goals, as well as a presentation on the most important services and technologies offered by the park as a platform for science and its awareness and entertainment role.
HE the Prime Minister was also briefed on the techniques and regulations of electricity and water consumption rationalization, which reflects Kahramaa's role in the social responsibility to support the state's development of in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior toured the park and the Dana Dome, which showcases 3D film about the importance of water and energy. HE also listened to an explanation for the life cycle of a drop of water and how to get and save it.
Meanwhile, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani made a trip to the power station that uses Virtual Reality Technology, in addition to the climate change and water areas.
The tour also included a visit to the Islamic corner which show the role of Islam in achieving sustainability, and to the research and renewable energy area listen to an explanation about its importance in the diversity of energy sources and the reduction of carbon emissions. Integrated models to create sustainable buildings through advanced techniques were also shown to HE the Premier.
HE then toured the external yard of awareness park, which includes many supportive models of sustainability and renewable energy such as, the solar, wind and thermal energy, and it is the only building in the state that uses three different energy sources.
HE Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani praised Kahramaa's officials for their role and the efforts they had exerted in raising the awareness of the various segments of the society in rationalizing consumption of electricity and water and preserving environment, and directed them to strengthen the role of the park in the community in collaboration with various state's entities to achieve its goal.
