President of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba visited on Wednesday the Unknown Soldier tomb in Qasyoun mount and put a wreath of flowers on it in appreciation of the Syrian army’s sacrifices against terrorism.

The Abkhazian president, accompanied by Higher Education Minister Atef Naddaf, visited a number of historic and religious sides in Damascus that included the Umayyad mosque, al-Azem Palace, Khan Asa’ad Basha, Mariamite Cathedral of Damascus, Our Lady of Saidnaya Monastery and Ma’alola town.

The President was briefed by the supervisors of the historic and religious sites on a detailed explanation of the history of each site and their symbolic features.

President Khajimba affirmed that harmony among religions in Syria is an indication to the glory of its civilization, hoping that peace and security would return to all Syrian territories, thanking the Syrian people for their hospitality.

The Abkhazian President started on Tuesday a four-day official visit to Syria.
