Oil Minister, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, opened here today the Oil East Catalyst Technology Conference 2017 (ME- CAT 2017) will run up until tomorrow.

The event is organised by Euro Petroleum Consultants and Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) in cooperation with the National Oil and Gas Authority.

Supported by a number of international oil companies in the Gulf, ME- CAT 2017 is attended by a large number of experts and engineers and those interested in the various aspects of the oil industry from different countries of the world.

It aims to discuss the technological processors fuel oil remaining in the petroleum refining industry.

The minister of oil expressed his deep happiness in the embrace of the Kingdom of Bahrain the first version of the series of conferences of the Middle East Catalyst Technology Conference, in regards to the good reputation enjoyed by the Kingdom of Bahrain on the world level in the conference and events industry specialized in this vital area. H.E. appreciated the tireless efforts of the government in overcoming the difficulties and in having successful events that contribute to the development of exchange of information, experience and expertise and a review of best practices in all areas and disciplines of the relationship.

He expects the global catalyst market to reach 33 billion US dollars a year by 2018. There are developments in the areas of refining and petrochemicals and chemicals, as well as environmental factors; which may have contributed to the growth and increasing demand for motivating factors in world markets.

The programme in the conference includes a number of important topics in the world oil industry at the present time, which cast a shadow over the development of the links between the performance of catalytic materials used in the treatment of the hydrogen gas oil in the industrial units in the refineries and performance in the modules in the industrial laboratories. As well as the review of ways to develop databases on the performance of this kind of commercial catalytic materials to suit the needs of oil refineries and oil companies in the world, and to the review the best practices in the manufacture of catalytic materials and to invest in developing the oil industry in the region.

The conference has attracted many participants from specialised technicians and engineers from various local, regional and international companies, specialised in the field of catalyst markets.

A number of researchers and scholars in this specialisation of the different countries of the world are attending the event.

The exhibition has attracted many national and global companies which will showcase the latest products and technical developments in the oil industry, where the fair is an opportunity to talk closely with the representatives of the participating companies.
