Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan
Dubai - WAM

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, last night opened the '7 Princesses' photo exhibition of the international award-winning photographer, Steve McCurry.
In partnership with The Empty Quarter Gallery, the American photographer launched his latest exhibition at Fairmont The Palm Dubai. The exhibit is the result of McCurry's time in the country last November, when he photographed 20 local women throughout the seven emirates.
Steve McCurry uses his lens to celebrate the lives and achievements of Emirati women.
Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC), Saudi Princess Reem Al Faisal, and a crowd of photographers, artists, cultural personalities, partners and sponsors of the exhibition, attended the opening ceremony.
Organisers say the idea behind the event is to build bridges between the UAE and international cultures and present a unique and avant-garde point of view regarding the role of women within Emirati society. Each photo is aimed to reflect the ‘crucial roles of the contemporary, vibrant and dynamic Emirati woman'.
The 7 Princesses exhibition will open to the public from 10th to 13th March, at Fairmont The Palm, followed by a public gallery opening from 16th March to 16th April, at The Empty Quarter in DIFC.
