Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, attended the signing ceremony, held at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, to renew the partnership agreement between the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, ADEK, and INSEAD, for additional 10 years.

Under the agreement, INSEAD will continue to develop, operate and manage its campus in Abu Dhabi, using the same style of management for its campuses in France and Singapore.

The agreement aims to advance the position of Abu Dhabi in the international arena as a reputable hub for talent in business and finance.

It was signed by Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of ADEK, and Andreas Jacobs, Chairman of INSEAD's Board of Directors.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed engaged in conversation with ADEC and INSEAD officials on the ambitious plans to develop education and build national capabilities through partnerships with the world's leading institutions.

INSEAD is one of the world's leading and largest graduate business schools, which offers Masters and Doctoral programmes, as well as Executive Education to develop the skills of top management executives.

Dr. Al Nuaimi said the renewal of the agreement reflects the keenness of the UAE leadership to provide advanced education, drawing from global best practices and successes.

ADEK seeks to partner with leading educational institutions as part of its efforts to build an education system to the highest international standards. The aim is to enable citizens to develop their skills to cope with the rapid developments in today's world, he added.

Dr. Al Nuaimi further said the recent opening of INSEAD’s new campus in Abu Dhabi is a step forward that will enhance the emirate's position as a beacon for higher education and contribute to realising the UAE's vision for a knowledge-based economy.

Jacobs lauded the fruitful partnership with ADEK and pledged further efforts to develop co-operation on education. He added that INSEAD was committed to providing best methods of education to help equip future young talents and leaders with necessary skills.

Earlier this month, INSEAD inaugurated its new campus in Abu Dhabi, in partnership with ADEK and the Abu Dhabi Global Market. The new campus is located in the heart of the capital, at ADGM Square, Al Maryah Island. The inauguration marked ten years since INSEAD officially established its presence in the UAE.

The event was attended by Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council; H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region; H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister for Tolerance; Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council; Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education and Advanced Skills; senior officials and academicians.
