Beirut - MENA

Lebanese outgoing Prime Minister Najib Mikati concluded on Wednesday his visit to South Africa after he represented his country to a farewell ceremony for late leader Nelson Mandela. Mikati's press office in Beirut said he met with U.S. President Barack Obama, French President Francois Hollande, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Prime Minister of Italy, Enrico Letta on the sidelines of their participation in the memorial. They all expressed their keenness on stability in Lebanon and their willingness to help the Lebanese government in the Syrians displacement crisis, the statement added. Mikati also held a lengthy meeting with Gold Brown the official in the International Fund for Education to review the educational situation in Lebanon and the Syrian displacement's implications.
