New York - UPI

Actor Lillo Brancato says he expects to leave the New York prison where he spent the last eight years on Tuesday. The 37-year-old former cast member of "The Sopranos" and "A Bronx Tale" was convicted of attempted burglary for his role in a 2005 botched Bronx burglary, which ended with his accomplice shooting and killing an off-duty police officer. The New York Post said Brancato was set for release in July after serving eight years of a 10-year sentence, but he is being released early after agreeing to an unusual deal for which he will serve five years' parole with a 10 p.m. curfew. He would not have been placed on parole if he waited until July, the Post said. "Thank you for your love and support. I love you all!" Brancato said in a tweet he dictated from prison Sunday, the Post said.
