King Mohammed VI arrived on Monday in Conakry for an official visit in the Republic of Guinea, third leg of an African tour that took the sovereign to Mali, Côte d’Ivoire and will take him to Gabon. Upon his arrival at the Conakry-Gbessia airport, the King was greeted by Guinean President, Pr. Alpha Condé. The Moroccan monarch was greeted afterwards by Guinean PM Mohamed Said Fofana and by the governor of Conakry. The sovereign and the Guinean head of state headed for the VIP stand to salute the flags while the national anthems of both countries were playing. A 21-gun salute was fired to welcome the sovereign. King Mohammed VI was greeted by presidents of constitutional bodies, high-ranking officers of the Guinean armed forces, presidents of constitutional institutions, cabinet members, the diplomatic and consular corps and representatives of international organizations accredited to Conakry. The sovereign was also greeted by Morocco’s ambassador to Conakry Majid Halim, members of the Moroccan diplomatic mission and representatives of the Moroccan community in Guinea and of Moroccan institutions in Conakry. The Moroccan official delegation comprises also Minister of Foreign Affairs Salaheddine Mezouar, Minister of Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq, Minister of Economy and Finance Mohamed Boussaid, Minister of Agriculture Aziz Akhannouch, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Logistics Aziz Rebbah, Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Minister of Health El Houceine El Ouardi, Minister of Energy Abdelkader Amara and Tourism Minister Lahcen Haddad, as well as Youssef Amrani, Chargé de Mission in the Royal Office. King Mohammed VI is also accompanied by a delegation of businessmen representing the public and private sectors, and by civilian and military figures.
