Iranian official meets with Syrian secretary of national security council

Head of the Iranian Strategic Research Center affiliated to the Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati conferred on Saturday with Secretary of Syrian Supreme National Security Council Ali Mamlouk on the latest developments in the armed conflict in Syria.
Velayati also conferred with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Syrian Premier Wael Nader al-Halqi, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Mohi Edine al-Moallem and Secretary of Syrian Supreme National Security Council Ali Mamlouk, IRNA reported.
Velayati arrived in Syrian capital Damascus on Friday evening following his trip to Lebanon.
In his meeting with Syrian president, the two sides reviewed expansion of mutual relations and cooperation and exchanged views on regional developments.
The Syrian president welcomed Velayati and appreciated the Iranian supreme Leader, nation and its government for their support for the Syrian nation.
