Manama - Arab Today

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa today attended National Day celebrations held by the Halat Al Naim and Halat Al Sluta Youth Centre.

Upon arrival, His Highness was welcomed by Ghanim Al Buainain, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Salman Bin Isa Bin Hindi, Governor of Muharraq and a number of officials.
His Highness welcomed the activities of Bahrain’s young people to celebrate the Kingdom’s achievements and to focus on the country’s development.
His Highness expressed his pride in witnessing the initiatives Bahraini citizens have undertaken to celebrate Bahrain’s National Day, which marks the establishment of the modern Bahraini state as a Muslim Arab country, the 46th anniversary of the Kingdom’s accession to the United Nations as a full member, and the 18th anniversary of His Majesty the King's accession to the throne.
His Highness praised the youth centre’s members and management for the work they carry out in the Kingdom, and for their efforts to organise an important event celebrating National Day.
Dr Shaikh Saqr bin Salman Al Khalifa, Assistant Undersecretary of Youth Organisations and Centres at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, delivered a speech during the event, in which he extended congratulations to the Kingdom’s leadership on the occasion of National Day. He praised His Highness' support for the efforts of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, noting its positive impact on young people’s development.
Shaikh Saqr praised the Halat Al Naim and Halat Al Sulta Youth Centre, one of 35 youth centres in the Kingdom. The Assistant Undersecretary also noted that youth centres have jointly organised almost 90 activities to celebrate National Day.
With the support of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, as well as the support of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Athletics Federation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs has reached all of its annual strategic goals drawn up earlier this year.
The president of the youth centre, Rashid Al Nuaimi, extended a congratulatory speech on behalf of the Board of Directors and the residents of the Halat Al Naim and Halat Al Sluta Youth Centre, in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Mohammed for his support towards National Day events.
The event also included recitals in honour of Bahrain, and His Highness received a number of commemorative gifts.
