Islamabad - Agencies
Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani dismissed any chance of early polls while addressing a public gathering in Multan and said the general elections would be held after the country’s parliament completes its tenure. Gilani said that the demand for early elections was the “old technique of the have-nots to become haves.” “However, we will act according to the constitution,” the prime minister said. According to The Gulf Today correspondent Tariq Butt report, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif warned the government to desist from introducing a massive increase in the rates of electricity, gas and petroleum products. Gilani said that those who were declaring the PPP as a threat to Pakistan were political orphans.
