British Secretary of State on visit to Indonesia

UK Secretary of State Andrew Mitchell of the Department for International Development (DFID) is visiting Indonesia from February 13 to 6.
The visit is aimed at enhancing the partnership between Indonesia and the UK on issues such as forestry and climate change, the British embassy said in a press statement here Tuesday.
Mitchell is scheduled to meet with several Indonesian ministers, businesses, experts and civil society organizations.
Further, the Secretary of State is to tour East Kalimantan to learn more of the threats of deforestation in Indonesia.
He will also visit one of the first timber producers to have its timber production certified as legal under a programme supported by the UK and meet with local stakeholders to exchange views and underline the commitment of the UK Government in working with its Indonesian partners in combating climate change and deforestation.
